Aeroflot has been granted the highest five-star rating for punctuality from the world's leading provider of travel data and insight OAG, becoming the only Russian and the largest European airline by passenger traffic to receive five stars.
OAG’s punctuality rating is based on full-year on-time performance data. Only 10% of On-Time Performance Star Ratings receive the highest five-star rating. According to new data provided by OAG, this year Aeroflot performed better than its global peers, thus confirming its stable position among world’s most punctual airlines.
In January 2019, UK aviation publication FlightGlobal named Aeroflot the world’s fifth most punctual airline and second in Europe based on data from 2018.
"Aeroflot is continuously strengthening the quality of service," said Vitaly Saveliev, CEO of Aeroflot. "We make every effort to ensure our passengers’ trips are as comfortable and punctual as possible. Our priority is to provide the most comprehensive consideration of customers’ needs along with attention to detail at every stage of their journeys."
In 2018, Aeroflot took a number of measures that helped significantly improve punctuality. These included strict implementation of boarding regulations and hand-luggage requirements. Future plans include innovations based on the latest digital technologies, such as biometric controls, that will significantly accelerate pre-flight airport procedures for passengers.
