Sales Manager, APG Malaysia

Division: APG Malaysia - Acting Partners

Job Summary

The Sales Manager for APG Malaysia is an integral part of our team, primarily tasked with driving the promotion of APG's diverse product portfolio, including but not limited to GSSA, IET, APG Connect, APG Cargo, APG Platform, and other non-airline specific products, to our B2B clientele.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, Commercial, you will:

  • Fulfill or exceed the established sales and revenue objectives via timely implementation of vital sales strategies.
  • Cultivate and sustain solid relationships with partners in the travel industry, such as airlines, travel agencies, tour operators, and commercial entities, through consistent sales engagements.
  • Collect, analyze, and act upon competitive intelligence to formulate and propose competitive strategies.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify and target potential markets and devise effective sales strategies.
  • Represent APG at industry events, product seminars, and training sessions to boost market awareness of our products.
  • Stay alert to emerging markets, market trends, new product introductions, and competitor activities.
  • Formulate and execute Sales and Marketing Plans for Acting and BSP Airlines, liaising with the Contracting Partner for each airline.
  • Monitor the execution of the Sales & Marketing strategy, providing regular progress reports to the Contracting Partner and APG Headquarters.
  • Encourage travel agencies, both IATA and non-IATA, to actively promote APG's airline portfolio and products, including newer offerings such as NDC.
  • Regularly evaluate revenue performance against targets to ensure attainment of goals.
  • Timely submission of market intelligence reports for internal use.
  • Administer agents' ticketing authority via BSP, coordinating with IATA for compliance monitoring, including ticket stock termination or reinstatement as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with various Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) to ensure accurate and current airline systems, fares, and availability.
  • Provide IATA travel agents with BSP-related support, including updates on credit card policies, refunds, and airline communications.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to coordinate the execution of marketing strategies, enhancing the visibility of Acting Airlines' products, services, and promotions through digital and social media marketing.
  • Guarantee timely and efficient execution of all functions as prescribed in the APG Service Level Agreement (SLA) documents.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the travel or airline industry.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and fluency in English.
  • High level of mobility and willingness to travel.
  • Strong understanding of Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) and IATA/BSP processes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and market intelligence tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in meeting sales targets.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing and social media platforms.

Sales and Marketing Executive, APG Malaysia

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Sales and Marketing Executive to join our dynamic team at APG Network Malaysia. This role focuses on the travel and aviation industry, and your primary responsibilities will include meeting existing travel agent clients, signing up new product contracts, and driving outside sales initiatives. As a Sales and Marketing Executive, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and ensuring our sales targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will:

  • Achieve and exceed agreed-upon sales and marketing KPIs.
  • Identify and secure new potential clients and business opportunities, including virtual and in-person meetings with travel agents and clients.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans to promote our products and services.
  • Gather market intelligence to inform competitive strategies and drive sales conversions.
  • Handle customer and trade complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Coordinate and execute team activities to maximize productivity, ensuring timely and effective sales visitations, sales analytics, and marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain a well-organized and efficient administration within the department, offering assistance to colleagues as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including travel agents, corporate partners, airlines, national tourism offices, and government authorities.
  • Attend scheduled and ad-hoc meetings as required by the company and principals.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports for the Sales Manager and principal.
  • Evaluate the success and effectiveness of sales initiatives and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, promotions, briefings, seminars, and training events.
  • Drive market expansion efforts to increase sales volume and achieve sales targets.
  • Manage and maintain the company's social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Create engaging, shareable content for specific platforms to drive traffic and customer engagement.
  • Monitor and participate in relevant social discussions about our company, competitors, and industry, engaging with existing leads, customers, and new audiences.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales and marketing, preferably within the travel and aviation industry.

This role focuses on the travel and cruise industry, and your primary responsibilities will include handling daily cruise enquiries and monitoring of cruise bookings. As a Marketing Executive, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence to converting enquiries into bookings ensuring sales targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will:

  • Develop and enhance the reputation of the cruise products, promoting them to consumers and within the trade.
  • Manage daily cruise inquiries and the booking process for a seamless customer experience.
  • Prepare for participation in trade shows and other promotional activities, effectively representing our brand and fulfilling event-related duties.
  • Disseminate press releases and prepare newsletters as directed by management.
  • Track press and media coverage related to our market segments and analyse their impact.
  • Assisting in preparing monthly performance reports to the management.
  • Use social media platforms to enhance brand and product awareness.
  • Offer support to other team members and departments as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements
