New to Fashion Week? Here’s what to expect. But for now, take inspiration from those that wear-it-best, with a touch of glamour and a flash of colour, as we bring you the top trends to wear, and how to master this season’s hottest street style looks...

Keeping Things Uniform

Spotted standing tall and structured, Utility inspiration was everywhere this February. With cool neutral tones, and light layers - it lends itself perfectly to chic transeasonal dressing. Key pieces to invest in are light parkers, tailored blazers, and that timeless trench.

Perfect Pastels

The most grammed trend of 2018; this season we spotted pastels back again - but this time with a fresher take on icy-milkshake shades. In minty greens and gentle greys, this colour palette was all about head-to-toe. Update your wardrobe with a few maxi dresses, or a lightweight knit, for an instant pastel pick-me-up.

All Of The Brights

The fashion folk were fighting for the limelight on the streets of London with bold, bright and neon colours. Banishing those winter neutrals and owning the pavements in colour-blocking statement two pieces, must-have jackets and skirts in anything but subtle shades. It’s time to invest in that designer (Prada) purse in that fabulous neon tone - and let it do all the shouting from the (fashion) rooftop.

Arm Candy

When it comes to arm candy, bags were worn small and in-hand at LFW. Think top handles, envelope clutches and mini crossbodies. These were block coloured or beautifully adorned, and showcased lots of metal hardware.

Cunard to also partner with the Society of London Theater to create a new event voyage on board the luxury ocean liner Queen Mary 2

Cunard to also partner with the Society of London Theater to create a new event voyage on board the luxury ocean liner Queen Mary 2

Luxury cruise line Cunard is proud to announce that for the first time it will partner with the prestigious Olivier Awards to sponsor the award for Best Revival. This is an annual award presented by The Society of London Theater (SOLT) in recognition of achievements in London theater.

Established in 1976, the Olivier Awards celebrate the world-class status of London theater. The ceremony which takes place this year at the Royal Albert Hall on 7th April shines a spotlight on the finest theater talent, performances and productions.

Taking the relationship from shore to ship, Cunard will delve into its stage heritage to co-create with the Society of London Theater “London Theater at Sea”, its newest event voyage for the iconic Transatlantic Crossing on board the luxury ocean liner Queen Mary 2 in May 2020. Through this unique partnership guests sailing across the Atlantic will experience Olivier Award winning talent, both on and off the stage, with a range of performances and insightful talks from the stars and creatives.

As the week-long event voyage progresses, guests will also be taken behind the scenes, to explore the secrets and techniques of putting on a world-class show. This will include workshops with award winning design teams and the opportunity to sing in the on board West End Choir.

“We are excited to partner with the Society of London Theater both as an award sponsor of the Olivier Awards and through the event voyage which will provide Cunard’s guests with immersive theatrical experiences,” says Lee Powell, VP Brand and Product, Cunard. “Spectacular performances are in our DNA and we look forward to inspiring and delighting our guests on board as they enjoy some of the best of London theater.”

Julian Bird, Chief Executive of Society of London Theater/UK Theater and Executive Producer of the Olivier Awards, added: “It is wonderful to welcome Cunard as our newest partner and we look forward to working with them in the lead up to the Olivier Awards and as we bring the London Theater at Sea event voyage on board Queen Mary 2 to life.”

As part of its patronage of British theater, Cunard has a unique, long-standing relationship with London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). One of the most famous acting schools in the English speaking world, its alumni include Alan Rickman, Ralph Fiennes and Michael Sheen.

On selected Cunard voyages, RADA graduates have performed adaptations of the classics as well as fun, small cameo plays. In the past, this has consisted of a compilation of Shakespeare’s most famous romantic scenes in plays such as Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream to a light-hearted Cunard trivia show. The RADA graduates have also passed on stagecraft tips in acting workshops.

Furthermore, late last year Cunard announced its partnership with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles). Cunard is partnering with BAFTA LA as the organisation's official luxury cruise partner; the line will participate as a sponsor in some of BAFTA LA's unique entertainment events and programming throughout 2019. In addition, Cunard will launch BAFTA LA Screenings on board as part of the brand's renowned Insights Programme on their fleet of ships, Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria.

The London Theatre at Sea experience will be available on Queen Mary 2 on its Transatlantic Crossing from New York to Southampton 13 - 20 May 2020.

Cunard Announce Record 2020 – 21 Summer Season in Australia.

Cunard Announce Record 2020 – 21 Summer Season in Australia.

Luxury cruise line Cunard has announced that Queen Elizabeth will return to Australia for an unparalleled 118 days over the 2020-21 summer, headlining Cunard’s biggest ever Australian season.

The season will also feature visits from Cunard flagship Queen Mary 2 and sister ship Queen Victoria during their world voyages, with the royal trio spending a record 49 days in Australian ports between them.

Queen Elizabeth’s four-month season will begin in November 2020 and will include more than 60 itinerary options as she sails from her homeports of Melbourne and Sydney.

Voyages will range from two-night cruises between Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide to longer journeys around Australia and New Zealand.

New offerings include 12 and 13-night cruises between Sydney and Auckland calling at a range of stunning ports along the New Zealand coastline, as well as calls to Tasmania and Victoria. The cruises can also be combined to create a destination-rich 25-night journey featuring an impressive nine New Zealand ports.

Other highlights include a Royal Rendezvous with Queen Victoria in Sydney on March 1, 2021 – marking the first time the two ships have met in Australia – as well as a special overnight call in Auckland on December 31, 2020, enabling Cunard guests to be among the first in the world to celebrate the New Year.

Simon Palethorpe, President, Cunard said: “The decision to increase our Australian presence further reflects the continuing growth in popularity of Cunard cruises among Australian travellers.

“Our new 2020-21 season in Australia is not only our biggest, it will be the third consecutive summer deployment for Queen Elizabeth, which is winning a strong following among local cruisers who enjoy her stylish features and her voyage offerings.”

“Basing Queen Elizabeth in Australia for a record 118 days enables us to create a range of new itinerary options, such as our longer New Zealand journeys, which we think will appeal to both existing and new Cunard guests and boost the popularity of Queen Elizabeth even further.”

The new program will also feature overnight calls in Hobart, Wellington and Auckland as well as Queen Elizabeth’s maiden call to Lyttelton and Cunard’s inaugural call to New Plymouth in New Zealand.

At 90,900 tonnes, the 2081-guest Queen Elizabeth is the second largest ship ever to sail in Cunard’s fleet. Launched in 2010, she is also the youngest in the cruise line’s current trio of Queens.

At the end of last year Queen Elizabeth underwent a refurbishment including the introduction of a brand new holistic spa concept, Mareel Wellness & Beauty.

Full details of the 2021 World Voyage season and Queen Elizabeth’s 2020-21 Australian programme will be released on March 4, 2019 with holidays scheduled to go on sale on March 12, 2019.
