
Putrajaya, 25 April 2018 – Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) kicked off the “Promosi Hebat Macao” Roadshow at IOI City Mall (Ground Floor, Centre Court), Putrajaya today. The roadshow aims to attract Malaysian Muslim travelers to visit Macao during the Hari Raya holidays in June.
“Promosi Hebat Macao” will feature information about Macao’s attractions, events, festivals, local and Muslim-friendly food as well as travel packages tailored with the Muslim traveler in mind. In line with Macao’s recognition as the City of Gastronomy under the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, there will be a food sampling session of the world-famous Portuguese Egg Tart and Almond Cookies from Friday to Sunday (5:00 - 7:00 PM).
For individuals who have Macao in mind, there is no better time to visit “Promosi Hebat Macao” as AirAsia will be offering 20% off on flights to Macao departing from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. Attractive travel packages to Macao are also offered by Nusa Travel and Prestige Vacation. The Dragon Boat Festival commemorates the patriotic Chinese poet Qu Yuan, who protested corruption by drowning himself. Today, the celebrations come in the form of the dragon boat race at Nam Van Lake on the historic Praia Grande shorefront.
29th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest
1, 8, 15, 24 September & 1 October
Universally acclaimed as one of the best of its kind, the fireworks display takes place on the Macau Tower Shorefront. Its popularity has grown over the years with more than 100 international teams from China, the Philippines, Thailand, Chinese Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia, the UK, Switzerland, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain participating in this world-class pyrotechnic shoot-out. Many visitors choose to visit Macao during this time to witness the spectacular displays in the night sky which can be enjoyed from many vantage points on the Macao Peninsula and Taipa Island.
65th Macau Grand Prix
15 - 18 November
This year, the Macau Grand Prix celebrates its 65th edition. The famous Guia Circuit will play host to an enviable line-up of prestigious motorsport events as household names rev up the track with their sophisticated, cutting edge racing machinery. Motorsport enthusiasts can challenge their skills and experience of the world’s most challenging city circuits at the Macau Grand Prix Simulator during the event.
